"Ground Advantage" is a cheaper option from the USPS (POST OFFICE) for shipping our trim. Please understand that this is an ECONOMICAL option to ship our trim and it is NOT the fastest service available. If you are wanting some of our trim, and have some time to wait, then "Ground Advantage" is a good, low-cost shipping option. We have seen some packages take 2 weeks or more for delivery. There is no way to avoid this using an economical shipping option like "Ground Advantage."
If you order some of our trim and choose the POST OFFICE "Ground Advantage" shipping option, we CANNOT reship the package with UPS if it takes a while to get to you! Please understand that it may take a few weeks or more for a package to arrive if you choose "Ground Advantage" for shipping and that we cannot reship the package with UPS if it takes a little while.
If you are needing our trim fairly quickly, we highly suggest using UPS for a more reliable shipping speed.
Our trim is sold in 6 foot long lengths and is considered an oversized package that has a higher shipping rate than smaller boxes. In October 2024, UPS increased their oversized package surcharge by almost $30.00 on their ground packages. UPS Ground is more expensive than POST OFFICE Ground Advantage, but it is a slightly more reliable service.
Our trim can also be shipped by UPS Next Day Air, but the oversize surcharge for UPS Next Day Air has also increased quite a bit. If you want to have some of our aluminum trim shipped Next Day Air, please call us! We will give you the exact quote over the phone, to make sure the rates are correct and current.
Our extruded aluminum trim is a great way to add some metal trim to your custom interior! Our Square Aluminum Trim is 1/4" by 1/4". The trim comes in 72" long strips, and has slightly radiused corners. This extruded Square Aluminum Trim is made from 6063 aluminum alloy. The trim comes in the raw extruded finish. It is easy to polish for a shiny finish, or you can give it a brushed look with an abrasive pad. The trim has blunt ends, but the ends are easy to shape with a 3" angle grinder.
We recommend drilling a blind hole on the back of the trim using a 3/32" drill bit and using a blunt tip #4 sheet metal screw to attach them to your custom panel. Being a softer grade of aluminum, the trim only needs to be drilled, it does not need to be tapped. The sheet metal screws will "bite" into the aluminum trim, without deforming the trim.
We also sell packs of the #4 sheet metal screws, and a drilling fixture that helps you drill a hole in the center of the trim.
Right now, we only sell this trim in 72" long strips. Much longer than that, and the shipping gets VERY expensive! The trim can be tig welded together if you need longer pieces.
